BOLT Engineering Fair Problem

The problem that I decided to address was the number of water and sport related deaths caused by lightning strikes. During a study conducted by NOAA during the years 2006 to 2016, there were 226 deaths caused by lightning strikes. Of those, 34% were water related and 14% were sport related. Of the 76 water related deaths, 43% of the victims were fishing; of the 31 sport related deaths, 39% were soccer players. To tackle this problem, I came up with BOLT, which stands for Battery Operated Lightning Tracker. With its portable, functional design, this device is perfect for taking along on any leisure activity - whether it is swimming, fishing, or even hiking.
